Angie Coe
Amputee Ambassador
Bio: Hello! My name is Angie Coe and I am an amputee. On February 8, 2020 I was in an off-roading accident that would change my life forever. My Polaris RZR tipped and my hand went out the window. I had massive damage to my right, dominant hand that would result in me losing my pinky, ring, and middle fingers along with a portion of my palm. As I’m sure you can imagine I had many surgeries and a long road of recovery. The physical part was very difficult but there’s definitely more than just that. Emotionally and mentally it can take a toll. Your brain is racked with so many questions and what if’s. That’s normal. There’s lots of fear. Fear of pain. Fear of change. Fear of what your new life will look like and how it’s going to be to adjust. Again, that’s normal. I had a very good friend share a quote with me that changed my view on how I was going to handle this new path. “Sometimes fear does not subside and you must do things afraid.” It’s ok to be afraid. It’s ok to feel any and all emotions that flow through you. Everyone has their own experience. We have a choice though. Let it take over your life negatively, or let it empower you! Let it give you strength to thrive to the best of your abilities. That was my decision! I truly believe a positive attitude will change the course of your recovery.
After a full year of recovery I got a prosthesis. It was life changing!! There’s many options for different prosthetic devices depending on the amputation and lifestyle, but I chose Point Designs digits. They are strong and versatile and fit with my lifestyle. There’s nothing I can’t do!! I feel empowered.
The road to growth never ends. I have good days and bad days but I always stay positive. I understand the physical, mental, and emotional rollercoaster that comes with being an amputee and I want to help others in the same position. I am here for you! I’ll do my best to listen, understand, and share my experiences with anyone seeking support. Life truly is beautiful
